Winter Solstice 2016

The shortest day, the longest night.


It just so happens that my driveway aligns with the Winter Solstice Sun.

This is not a pinhole shot, but instead, is an Instax (Fuji) instant camera photo of the setting Sun as seen down my driveway.

    That was a bit of good luck that the rain clouds held back just long enough to get that nice little solstice shot. One of my favorite bloggers has a post today about the solstice and archaeoastronomy at Gambler's House (https://gamblershouse.wordpress.com/). Maybe it will tweak your interest in visiting Chaco.
